Is Laser Hair Removal At Home Really An Option?

Unwanted body hair is something that a lot of us feel like we just have to deal with.  For years, professional laser treatments that permanently remove hair have been available for people with a lot of disposable income, but pretty much out of reach for normal consumers.  There have been numerous home products available that have made bold claims about their ability to keep skin smooth and hairless for long periods of time, but only very recently has laser hair removal at home become a viable option.

First Things First

We're all used to advertisers making some pretty powerful statements about how effective their products are, and most of us have learned to treat these with a good deal of skepticism.  Typically, the more outrageous the claim, the more likely it is to be untrue.  On the other hand, technology surprises us almost every single day, so many products showing up these days actually are capable of what would have seemed like pure magic just a few years ago.

In the case of laser hair removal at home, there are now actually two FDA-approved devices that have been EXTENSIVELY TESTED AND PROVEN TO REMOVE HAIR PERMANENTLY!  These aren't like the painful depilitators you may have tried in the past: the new home laser treatments use technology almost identical to what is used in professional (and expensive) clinics and salons around the world.

Both of these products, The Silk'n SensEpil and The Tria, work by sending a laser or very bright light down the shaft of the hair follicle into the very root itself.  This causes a cellular disruption that prevents the hair from growing back effectively.  Over a period of months, as the hair is exposed to more treatments, it is less and less able to grow back.  Finally, it will be GONE FOREVER!

Hair Removal Doesn't Have To Hurt

Ah, the things we'll do for beauty.  Ask anybody who waxes regularly, and they'll tell you it's worth the pain to have baby-smooth skin.  From hair and skin burning chemicals to ridiculous hair-ripping machines, many people have just come to associate long term hair removal with some amount of pain.  The kicker is that the new home laser products work without pain, but people just aren't really aware of them yet.

****YOU CAN GET RID OF HAIR WITHOUT HURTING YOURSELF!!!****

If you'd like a first hand account of what it actually feels like to use one of these home hair removal lasers, click here for a Tria review, and here to read one on the Silk'n SensEpil.  Both have been described as sort of a warm tingle, or a light snap with an elastic band, though both have adjustable levels of intensity, so even the most sensitive skin is safe.

It Couldn't Be Easier

You may be reading this, thinking, "Well, I'm sure there's some kind of catch.  Maybe it's really difficult to use."  Again, I'd like to point you to either of those first hand reviews I mentioned if you'd like specific details about how to actually use them, but you should know that the manufacturers put a lot of time and money into making sure these units were AS EASY TO USE AS POSSIBLE!

In the case of either The SensEpil or The Tria, treatments are performed very easily simply by holding the applicator against the skin for a moment, and then moving it along your body and repeating the process.  It's about as easy as shaving, though the end results make shaving obsolete.

Cheaper Than Any Alternative

While professional laser hair removal has come down in price since it first appeared on the market, the prices are still pretty high.  A quick search for the going rates for these kinds of services in my area puts just one treatment of the legs at a little more than $500.  One treatment is practically without value, though, because you're going to have to keep going in for more until the treatments have been completed, putting the actual price in the thousands-of-dollars range.

The new products designed for laser hair removal at home do what the professional treatments do AT A FRACTION OF THE COST!  Even the more expensive unit, The Silk'n SensEpil, is less than the price of just one professional laser treatment.  Over the course of a lifetime, even razor costs would dwarf the one time cost of either unit.

Better yet, both the Tria and SensEpil come with MONEY-BACK GUARANTEES, so you're free to try this type of laser hair removal at home before deciding to purchase either one.  This may be because both units are just now really building momentum on the market, so you might not want to rely on this lasting forever.

Deciding Which Is For You

Though they're based on the same technology, and are both FDA-APPROVED, there are some little differences in the products, so it's a good idea to research them before making a decision.  The Silk'n SensEpil is a little more expensive, but it does work a bit faster.  The Tria, on the other hand, has the benefit of being a cordless unit, which makes it a little easier to use on those hard-to-reach areas.  This Tria Vs. Silk'n SensEpil comparison is an excellent resource that really breaks down the differences between the two to make your decision easier.

For the first time in history, laser hair removal at home is actually a realistic and affordable option for everybody.  Two products have brought this technology to the home in an FDA-approved, safe and painless way that is also inexpensive.  Most importantly: IT WORKS!  For more information, I highly suggest reading up on the units in question.  Click here for a review on the Silk'n SensEpil, and click here for a Tria review.  You can also find the Tria Vs. Silk'n SensEpil comparison here.  Finally, for the official word or to try out one of these products for yourself, check out the official Tria or Silk'n SensEpil websites.
